I don't think that's necessary, but it's important that the EU can't rely on the US as much as now. I also don't equate military spending with hawkishness as much as bragging rights. The United States had bragging rights as a big spender. You would think that would be right up Trump's asshole. Although we sometimes make them ourselves, most Germans are very sensitive if it comes from foreigners because we're used to getting bashed for this. So I'm over 50 % German also Irish, English, Scottish, Polish, I think that's it.
