Several Parts of East Tennessee put under Code Red air quality

I know this isn't really world news, but I decided to speak of it.

The Tri-Cities and Chattanooga areas have been put under Code Red air quality, due to the smoke from uncontrolled fires. Due to a current high pressure system, winds do not blow smoke away from the cities, causing the smoke to stagnate like a haze or smog. 200 people have been hospitalized from inhalation of smoke.

This is to add onto the news that Tennessee has received many out of state fire fighters in order to fight the uncontained flames. We are also in fact, in a state of emergency as many personal wells have dried up, and I do believe this drought is affecting even city water.

I'm sorry I don't have links. this was just on the news. I'll find some soon.

However, the pictures I've just seen make the Tri-Cities look like some of the worst parts of China/Japan.

Please pray/send well wishes/summon incredible storm masses our way.

EDIT: Links.

Thank yous.

It's so scary. i literally woke up this morning with a haze covering the mountains and like half the valley. I couldn't even see a mile out. I couldn't even see the mountains.

It was like that until after noon. It's scary.

Not to mention I worry for the animals. We have a bunch of farmers and even an angus farm around hhere. If humans can get smoke inhalation problems, animal surely will too.

I have to carry my inhaler with me to class now, because of this air quality.

I always carry my inhaler because I have asthma. Plus this smoke isn't helping my sinus issues and year-round allergies.

*huggles* That is awful.

Maybe it's time to invest in gas masks?

Haha well I haven't really went outside since summer... the dead grass kind of makes me feel awful and honestly I don't think i've seen any wildflowers growing since September. it's depressing when I walk outside.

I'm hoping the rain that comes Friday/Sunday is massive. I'm gonna see if I can find storm spells but I think I'd need several covens to summons  storm to end a drought this large.

Horrible to see the beautiful Smoky Mountains going up in flames. They believe it was arson, which is even worse :ohno: Stay safe folks! We had a nasty wildfire in Eastern NC about 5 years ago that caked the area in smog for weeks.
