Caesium 6,022 Posted November 15, 2016 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Despite being one of the 2010s most defining and widely respected artists, queen of sadcore Lana Del Rey (a.k.a. the Dalai Lana) is yet to win a Grammy, despite far less talented acts such as Justin Bieber, Meghan Trainor and fun. all having won since she debuted. She has only been nominated for two in 2014 (Best Pop Vocal album for "Paradise" and Best Song Written for Visual Media for "Young & Beautiful"). Whilst these masterpieces were rightfully acknowledged, they went to inferior acts. She was COMPLETELY snubbed at the 2013 Grammys where she should have at least been nominated for BNA, AOTY for the generation defining 'Born to Die', and certainly won BPVA. Video Games is widely regarded as one of the best songs of the 21st century, but was ignored for any kind of award such as SOTY/ROTY. Meanwhile. one hit Grammy stealing wonders "fun." took awards Lana rightfully deserved. Ultraviolence and Honeymoon, despite being both lauded by critics, were equally reviled by the Grammy committee, whilst debatably successful acts such as less talented male Lana-wannabe Sam Smith and Satan Swift took away awards undeservedly. Why do the Grammys keep getting it wrong? Does the constant ignoring of Lana prove that talent sometimes loses?
