Maybe for you it doesn't? Most people appreciate innapropriate / dark comedy, not that this even comes close to that.

If Joanne is a parody of anything; it's a parody of white, middle class America. From the way Joanne portrays herself as a "Caucasian woman" to the way he uses negative stereotypes of black people which are ironically held by those middle class white women of America.

This is going to sound patronising but I don't think you understand the humour behind it, that's why you believe it is offensive.

It's not patronising, I appreciate hearing from you. I think a lot of people don't think about the deeper meaning behind it though, young kids are being influence by media and I don't see the need for Joanne. 

 

I'm glad you explained her more though, it's not my kind of entertainment  but I see a new viewpoint.
