Quark 7,098
o<(0_0)>o Gaga is certainly a huge star and an icon. She has sold many records, received tons of awards, created iconic videos, performances, songs, and fashion, and has been a big activist for many issues. Now she just earned her 4th #1 album and is scheduled to perform at one of the biggest musical events on Earth (the Superbowl Half-Time Show). So what does Gaga need to move to the next level and become a legend?

The Fame Joanne 5,985
She needs another highly sussessful era. Two would be even better
Benji 20,113
Longevity. She probably doesn't need a hugely successful era again but she basically needs to keep on releasing and pulling in some attention each release.

If we mean Madonna, MJ status with "legend" then I think she needs at least one hugely successful era again

I'm sure Gaga could crank out another era like that again but she'd have to accept that it may be at the expense of her ~artistic vision~ at the start as she would come around to love it eventually. I think to achieve true longevity, she needs at least one commercially and critically successful era. An artist with two peaks can't be labelled one-hit wonder nor a flash in the pan, and at least people will keep thinking if she had a second peak, her third one might be around the corner. People would look at her career and choose between either of peaks, and the eras in between will be noticed, too, when studying her would-be career. Otherwise, people will only keep remembering her TF/M eras and nothing else, sadly. A less feasible way is to have consistently critically successful eras. This was what I used to think before Joanne was released, but the sad reality I woke up to is that Gaga will not be reaping 80's in metacritic anytime soon. Madonna had three peaks in her career and I'd say she became a legend after the second one. She had the 80s, Ray of Light/Music, COADF

Gaga is one of two pop girls I stan for and I gotta say this is very delusional. We aren't in 2009-2011 anymore. So many pop girls have overtaken Gaga in sales, critical acclaim, being the "it" girl. Maybe not all at once but Gaga has very little niche left. Flyin' like a 1000 Doves

Ok, but what does that have to do with Gaga being a legend though? Oh, I'm just visiting-
