The laws are in place for a reason. Oh, yes because the legal system is just so efficient for people who are desperate to move out of poverty and dangerous countries. You have to look at the reasons people sneak in illegally to a country. Also people try to get residency and are denied very often. The laws need to be reconsidered in certain cases. Yes, they are still classified as illegal immigrants. Of course illegal immigration is a problem. Of course our border needs to be protected. Dangerous criminals SHOULD be deported. But innocent young adults who were brought over and were raised here? That's so unfair. The lack of empathy is just..... I can't. Go volunteer in poor communities, donate to a charity. I feel so sad for people who can't put themselves in someone else's shoes. Originally I was for 100% deporting them because the life of an illegal immigrant in the U.K. is a life no one deserves since you literally can't do anything On the plus in the UK though, the second their foot touches the ground, they can claim asylum and they instantly gain all of their rights and be housed whilst the government investigates their situation to asses whether they need emergency help (for example, escaping war, facing charges that don't stand up in a British court like being persecuted for being gay etc.) My new stance is don't deport them but implement a new system for the future. Crack down on people illegally entering but allow more people from down south to claim asylum so they can escape danger if they need to. Thanks for clarifying guys.
