I just love her Music and personality so much,

yesterday I was watching her latest tour DVD and she is amazing,

Congrats on her pregnancy ,

she is so much underrated in US , I guess she is more popular in Europe and ofcourse Australia.

last but not least Carey is so attractive.

She's huge in Australia and quite big in Europe for sure. It's remarkable that she's consistent after all these years. I'm not dead/funhouse were my favourite eras.

I guess like she is the most popular singer in Australia ever,

Her every era is good, but since 2006 I'm a big fan of her,

Glitter in the air performance @ Grammy's is one of my favorite performances ever.

I really didn't expect her to do this. She released her last album in 2012, just after she gave birth. Like a lot of new mums, she wanted time with her child and wanted to return to work when they reached school age. So, now Willow is 5, a lot of fans have been desperate for her long overdue album and what happens? She's pregnant again! I really don't understand why singers do this. Do they just want an excuse not to return to music? I know Pink doesn't have the same fight in her to be #1 like she used to and now prefers a more quiet existence because she's a settled wife and mother but come on! It just seems like she's wasting her potential by staying away. She's in her 30's, her time is running out fast to still be a success. A woman has a right to have a baby and all but when she's famous, she has to be tactical. Taking a 4 year break to devote yourself to your child only to have another baby at the end of it just seems like such bad planning. I just don't understand why a woman would want to take such a long break from work when she has a partner to look after the child when she's not there. Personally, I think the whole 'taking a break when your child is young' idea is really backward. You end up returning to work when they really need you! Who can remember being a baby or a toddler? No one, so why does your mum need to be there 24/7 at that age? Your child needs you the most when they start reaching double figures. That's when all the heavy stuff starts, the bullying, the pressure, the hormones, the rebellion. That's when your parents need to guide you and keep an eye on you. But that's when all the parents go back to work and have no time for their kids!

Congratulations to her and all but I hope she doesn't throw her career away.

I feel like you're reaching with this... She had Willow in June '11 and then released TTAL in September '12, and then went on a massively successful tour lasting until January '14. And then in October '14 she released Rose Ave as a part of You+Me. She also had success this year with Just Like Fire and her duet with Kenny Chesney, Setting the World on Fire. I don't think she's abandoning her career, nor is she seeking those huge hits anymore, either. I'd expect a new album by 2018, which really isn't that much time in between if you consider the things she does in the mean time.

Yay! She looks wonderful!

I wish her the best!

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

Yes, but she might not do that this time. It depends if the baby was planned or not. If it wasn't planned, a new album might be sooner than we think. But if it was planned, well, this could signal another long break. Yes, she has been making other new music in this time but it wasn't a hit by any stretch of the imagination. Most people outside her superfans had no clue of its existence. Contrary to Just Like Fire's success (which was only really in Australia, Canada and USA), I don't think the song has made any impact and the movie it featured on was a flop. And Kenny Chesney isn't popular outside the US. She doesn't really promote herself anymore either, especially outside America.

Xtina had her baby over 2 years ago and her new album is nowhere in sight. Considering she announced that she was working on the album 4 months before the birth, I'd hazard a guess to say that her child has delayed proceedings. Janet Jackson also cancelled her recent tour because she wanted to concentrate on getting pregnant. Gwen Stefani abandoned her solo career for years after her second album post-child. Kate Bush basically gave up on her career when she had her child 17 years ago. Lily Allen announced she was retiring from music when she planned on having kids, came back for one album and then crawled back under a rock when it flopped. When singers start having babies, their careers can take a serious nosedive if they're not careful. They act as if they have to be with their kids 24/7 despite civilian mothers having to work everyday and deal with seeing their child a whole lot less. Meanwhile, male singers become fathers and nothing changes, they're still as devoted to making music as ever, nothing stops them.

she probably doesn't even over-analyze it like you do :awkney: she just wants to have time to raise her kids, if her career ended up flopping, oh well she already has enough hits to be settled for life anyway. i feel like singers / artists doesn't really worry abt 'legacy' as much as fans do.

and p.s yes we do not remember being a baby/toddler but life is a series of transition and if she's not there for her baby there's a posibility that her daughter will subconsciously have a more negative mindset toward her.
