I see the general atmosphere that has emerged. I don't see how all those who voted for Trump are responsible for this particular incident. :nails:

Because all those who voted for Trump and made him win is powerful and emboldens people to do things they might otherwise not do.  The guy may not have felt he was given carte blanche to do what he wished before he won.

That's the most tenuous of links. Puh-lease. The author is simply emotional because he was just attacked for being gay after Trump was elected. "This is on you" is his opinion based on those emotions, not a statement of fact.

"I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. Trump

Not all trump supporters are racist, ill give you that, but the truth is that all racists are trump supporters, he enabled them, he gave them a voice.

Also trump is in the wrong by not clearing things up, if he is for unity as he says he should come out and explain himself and calm the fears of the minorities (EVEN if he is truly honest when he says hes not racist and that the media painted him like one), like not saying anything about the KKK rallying for him, his silence just adds fuel to the fire, or do you really think the KKK likes him because of his economic proposals?

He thinks that sayin "I love blacks!" and holding the gay flag will clean his name and thats just not enough.

Yes it is. You have him power and with power comes influence.

Trump has given more reasons to all the racist and homophobes to act like a bunch of savages. His win has proved to the world that you can be an asshole and still win for president.

Of course Trump supporters aren't all directly responsible for hate crimes but they are directly responsible of encouraging people to be intolerant.

Plus his win shows them that their opinion is right, valid.  Because ''their'' president won because he was as intolerant as they are. No matter if he is now (which I prefer) or not.

my own experience (germany) : I was being bullied by a 550people school, where on top of their game they spit in food and let me eat it, threw worn underwear at me, pushed me down the stairs, from 2008-20013. But they never used their hands on me. I left school 3 years ago after being 4 straight months in clinical therapy.  and everything got better. way better, I became more popular actually, people started to like me here. they cried because of what was done to me while I never shed a tear infront of anyone. But when the AfD got stronger (and they didn't even win.) the homophobic voices got louder, nazis insulted me and there were 4 moments where 4/5guys followed me at night and talked to each other about how they'd beat me up. How they'd rape me. How I deserved to be beat to death. How I'm worthless. (+ think of every possible insult for gay and trans people, and I'm not even trans). 2 times there were 5/3 nazis who tried to beat me up, and guess who jumped in front of me? Some muslims who started to respect and like me while being very distant when first seeing me. Because now they know how bad being a minority can be. (1500-2000 muslimic people compared to 1 outed gay guy who worked hard to be respected in a 15.000 inhabit-town.) Everything I worked hard for. My own respect and closeted people here being able to come out or live with being gay in this town. It was trown in the trash because of 1(!!!!) election.

That's how much an election can affect the mentality of people. And I don't want my people in the US, or any other minority to be pushed back in time and lose what other generations have fought for.
