Anastasia 6,093
My favourite song by him, So Long Marianne, nobody but him could write such a beautiful love song about somebody that they had left. My parents used to play this all the time, it makes me cry. FATWIFE, First Lady Of GGD

Old People who lived in the 1930s are visibly distressed. The last time Republicans won the entire US govt, the Great Depression happened. To even remeber some of the 30's they'd have to be around 90+ years old. To have had understood politics probably 100+ years. Poissonche 12,365
Oh no. First Bowie, now him... He's one of my dad's favourite artists, so I've been exposed to his music since before my birth. 2016 is really not cool.
CannaeDrive 3,412
Now that's a tragedy, every time a poet and an artist passes away. Still my favorite work from him: "Fame Is A Boomerang" - Maria Callas
LaLuna 12,732
We watched a documentary about him in one of my classes a few weeks ago. The man was incredibly smart and talented, a true legend, and he's made us Canadians so proud. RIP Mr. Cohen, you'll be missed.

I just wasn't expecting it, not that I expect any deaths that have happened in my life, but I guess when you idolize someone they become immortal to you. Very sad day for Canada and all Leonard Cohen fans, I felt like he needed so much more recognition in several different ways, but maybe that wasn't important to him.
