US Monsters Mobilize! Change.org petition to Electoral College

When I signed a couple hours ago only 600,000 people had signed, now it is at 1.3million!  I say Monsters can get a lot of word out by helping tweet and sign this and sharing it on Facebook.  Even if it doesn't work, it's going to send a huge message to our government and the world that this won't be accepted!

"On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine - which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!

We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states' votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?

Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic. 

Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President. 

Hillary won the popular vote. The only reason Trump "won" is because of the Electoral College.

But the Electoral College can actually give the White House to either candidate. So why not use this most undemocratic of our institutions to ensure a democratic result?

No. Our Constitution says the Electors choose.

"Too many states prohibit 'Faithless Electors'"

24 states bind electors. If electors vote against their party, they usually pay a fine. And people get mad. But they can vote however they want and there is no legal means to stop them in most states.

I think it's fair to be upset when a racist, misoginst, homophobic, and xenophobic idiot becomes president, especially after his opposition has been working 40 years in politics, while he only picked it up as a hobby last year...

As I said in another thread about this - no.

I'm all for scrapping the Electoral College but not to overturn the vote as it undermines the entire system. Everyone understood the rules when entering the race, they had time to have a plan to approach the system in place and it failed for Hillary. That's it.

it should be signed to make a point and the point alone. i signed it because less than 1/2 of america made a really dumb decision that could negatively affect me (this isn't an opinion, it's a fact when you look at proposals during the campaign). i am going to voice my unhappiness and make a point: fall in line trump cause we're watching you.
