Clinton campaign didn't do tracking polls for the last month, ignored Michigan issues.

http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/305339-clinton-world-dumbfounded-by-hillarys-election-defeat

“It was a mismanaged campaign from the start, 150 percent,” one aide said. “There was so much stuff that needed fixing. I thought we might have learned some lessons from the primary. But as you can tell from last night, probably not.”

Less than 24 hours after the mood at the Clinton election night party at the Jacob Javits Convention Center turned from celebratory to funereal, aides wondered how they could have lost so badly, why they didn’t see it coming, and how the Democrat could have lost to Trump.

One surrogate blamed the poor sampling models and analytics that the campaign was so reliant on. It hadn’t done traditional tracking polls for the last month

Other aides and surrogates pointed to an arrogance that came from the top.

Some faulted the top brass for not properly allocating the resources they needed to win states.

Given Clinton’s primary loss to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in Michigan, allies questioned why the Democratic nominee didn’t double down in the state much earlier.

Allies on the ground complained for weeks that they weren’t getting the resources they needed. -

Unbelievable... This should have been an easy election to win for the Democrats considering the guy they were up against. Looking back, it seems they didn't take it serious at all.

She underestimated how much people hated her and she was too slow out the gate. A lot of this was in her '08 campaign and surprise folks, it's found in '16 as well. Incompetence? Overconfidence? I don't know but I think they have no one but themselves to blame.

The same thing happened with Bernie in Wisconsin. He won every county in the State except for one in the primary. That's why she lost Wisconsin. Plus, she didn't campaign here since the Spring..

Eh, everyone got it wrong. Even Trump and his people thought he was going to lose. No one had the correct tracking polls.

She lost because she didn't step foot in Wisconsin once, while Trump did 7 times.

Why didn't she?

Americans got it all wrong. That was the problem. Who cares about pollings when more than half of your population is stupid af

In my statistics class, my professor was talking about this. The polls that Gallup Poll did were not representative of the population, so they were all wrong.:air:

Over confident. And Wisconsin has been a Blue state since the 80s I think... It's terrible.. And she was apparently leading in Wisconsin by a lot before the election. I was so disappointed.  I mean, Obama beat Romney here in 2012 by 12 points!! And in 2008 he won by 16 points!! Practically almost every county switched to red in this State for this election...

I really don't know about that, but I was reading everything while making the thread and it's heartbreaking to realize that they could have won with more aggressive campaigns.

None of them were right.. Even PPP, who is suppose to be one of the most accurate in the country, were all wrong in multiple states..

I mean look at this:

This was Clinton's schedule in late August:
http://www.p2016.org/clinton/clintoncal0816.html
August 18 - New York, NY
August 19 - Martha's Vineyard, MA
August 20 - Nantucket, MA, Martha's Vineyard, MA
August 21 - Provincetown, MA, Osterville, MA
August 22 - Beverly Hills, CA
August 23 - Los Angeles, CA, Laguna Beach, CA, Piedmont, CA
August 24 - Redwood City, CA, Los Altos, CA, Woodside, CA
August 25 - Reno, NV
August 26 - None
August 27 - White Plains, NY
August 28 - Sag Harbor, NY, Southampton, NY, Bridgehampton, NY
August 29 - East Hampton, NY, Quogue, NY
August 30 - Sagaponack, NY, North Haven, NY
August 31 - Cincinnati, OH

This was Obama's schedule in the same period in 2008:
https://www2.gwu.edu/~action/2008/ob...macal0808.html
August 18 - Albuquerque, NM
August 19 - Orlando, FL, Raleigh, NC
August 20 - Greensboro, NC, Martinsville, VA, Danville, VA, Lynchburg, VA
August 21 - Richmond, VA, Chester, VA, Petersburg, VA, Emporia, VA, Chesapeake, VA
August 22 - Chicago, IL
August 23 - Springfield, IL
August 24 - Eau Claire, WI
August 25 - Davenport, IA, Kansas City, MO
August 26 - Kansas City, MO
August 27 - Billings, MT, Denver, CO
August 28 - Denver, CO
August 29 - Monaca, PA, Aliquippa, PA, Beaver, PA
August 30 - Boardman, OH, Cleveland, OH, Marengo, OH, Dublin, OH
August 31 - Lima, OH, Toledo, OH, Hamilton, IN, Battle Creek, MI

At least she won CA and NY...

Superdelegates practically emboldened Clinton to do no campaigning in person or via media in the primary and she did the same in the General.

A late endorsement of Bernie in the primary probably saved Rick Nolan. Heck it might have even saved Blue Dog Colin Peterson who also supported him in a vague way(I'm not showing up but if he needs me to I'll vote for him). Walz in MN-01 was in the closest race in MN...he did NOT endorse Bernie at any point.

Nobody had the right polling.  The historic turnout numbers of certain voter segments in the Obama election must've skewed some polling matrices, because for a state like my home state, Pennsylvania, which has been solidly blue, to go red... they clearly missed some key voting blocks.

But this entire election I kind of expected Clinton to be overconfident.  Unfortunately for her, it seems she was.

I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.

It's f*cking bonkers, really.

I was VERY surprised.

It's quite disturbing to see that they didn't learn anything from losing this state back during the primaries, never mind went an entire month without updating any of their tracking data whatsoever.
