Luc 4,776
Despite the campaign-season bromance between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, there is arguably no sphere of foreign policy with greater risks for the president-elect than the former Soviet Union, with its combustible mix of nuclear weapons, Cold War rivalries and conflicts both frozen and live. Reactions to Trump’s victory on Wednesday ranged from confusion bordering panic in the Baltics, glum resignation at NATO headquarters in Brussels and in Moscow gleeful guffawing in the Duma, tinted with unease at the Kremlin where political surprises of any sort are regarded with alarm. Rojansky said Trump would do better to open back-channel lines of communication, knowing that Russia would have every reason to be patient and await an overture from the White House. “I think the Russians are very open, very receptive at this point,” he said. “They feel like everything is breaking in their favor: Brexit and Trump; likely to be followed by German and French elections in which the Russian-bashing forces are given at least a very sound drubbing.” As secretary of state, Hillary Clinton had developed a deep antipathy toward Putin and his foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov. She was particularly incensed at the Kremlin’s decision to bar the United States Agency for International Development from working in Russia, and at a ban on adoptions of Russian orphans by American citizens. In each case, Clinton viewed those moves as gratuitously mean, and harming innocent victims. But while Putin and his aides may have felt some satisfaction at Clinton’s defeat, Maxim Samorukov, an analyst at the Carnegie Moscow Center, said Trump’s victory created a very uncomfortable example for a government that dislikes any hint of political insurrection. “Russian state propaganda has found itself in a very awkward situation,” Samorukov said. “In fact, nobody in the Russian government seriously believed Trump could win. And the main purpose for his support in Russian state media was to create inside Russia an image of a popular people’s candidate and then, when Hillary wins, use it as a proof that American elections are unfair and rigged by the corrupted elite.” The goal, he said, was simple: “Another proof for the main message of the Russian propaganda: we are bad, but they are as bad as we are and even worse.” The plan, however did not work out. “Now Trump’s victory proves just the opposite,” Samorukov said, “the U.S. elections are not rigged and an anti-elite candidate indeed can win.” Still, he said, there was hope in the Kremlin that Putin and Trump do actually find a way to talk to each other, just as Lavrov and Obama’s Secretary of State John Kerry have developed a chummy rapport. “There’s some hope that they’ll be able to find kind of common language,” he said. “Though it’s not at all guaranteed, and the situation may develop in exactly the opposite direction.” Source: http://www.politico.eu/article/after-the-trump-putin-bromance-comes-geopolitical-chess/?utm_content=buffer041d4&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Trump is much less likely to cause a 3rd world war compared to Hillary. But not because he is great, but because he is machiavelist with conservative intentions. No. Trump is the president. These protests are all about making your voice heard and letting the Republican party know that you are not scared to fight for your rights. These protests could possibly save gay marriage, abortion rights and such.

Turkish media saw Hillary as the biggest threat to stability of mideast and world because she was defending the idea of training and equipping non-state actors in Syria which is exactly how terrorist organizations are created out of nowhere. Trump seems like he is not going to fire up the tension between US and Russia which Hillary seemed to play on...

My flop country could shoot down a Russian fighter jet and got away with it. I am sure Russia would try to invade Turkey if they wanted to invade a NATO country

The idea is that the delegates/electors could defy the will of the voters in their state and give it to Clinton. The ethical argument for this being that Clinton won the popular vote, so she deserves to win the election.
