Well, they have 4 years to do that, they can spend the time from now until Decmeber (19th I think?) trying this.

Plus, we already good, popular candidates to run in 2020. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren would make great picks.

2020 is going to be about pulling to the middle. Depending on how this whole trade experiment goes down, it may be that trade flip flops to being back in fashion four years from now. Immigration issues, healthcare will be pulled to the center and the emphasis will be on smaller government.

The demo groups who the Democrats tailored their message towards didn't show up enough to get a win and they've lost both Houses...again. Democrats will expand their focus and platform more towards the white working class.

2020 will pull to the middle, not to the extremes.

Girl, how old are you? You can't be that cynical already.

There's value in mobilizing civil unrest, even if it doesn't play out short-term in a politically meaningful way. This is a symptom of a huge subset of the nation's unwillingness to accept the ideas that Trump campaigned on, and these movements create momentum that leads to things like local activism, heightened civic engagement, ethics-driven patronage (i.e., not buying **** from people who support evil politicians), etc etc.

How old am I? Quite old, actually

I'm not simply being cynical, and all of the things you listed sound great. But what people want (and may get their hopes up for here) is a different result, I'm just being very clear that realistically I don't think that will happen, not from protests.

We have to accept the result, it was a fair result that did not take place in any way we haven't seen before; you just dislike the outcome.

I mean.. I sympathise but the protest will ultimately do nothing

Wrong! it sends a clear message to Trump, his supporters, and the Republican establishment that his campaign and rhetoric was divisive and harmful to people and by protesting, people are sending a clear message that they do not and will not tolerate that kind of division for the rest of his presidency.

Okay, but will it overthrow the president like people think, and bring in Hillary? Probably not..

Also, if you think he has any mind to bend to the public's will I'm afraid you're in for a shock. He'll either not acknowledge it or mock it.

I disagree, after 4 years of Trump, I think (ironically) people will want a real change.

Also, lbr Clinton was a terrible messenger for the message. It doesn't mean the message itself wouldn't resonate.

Who ****ing cares about it being ur country , when we live in the same planet and are all the same. Stop being so ****ing ignorant ffs

Yes I agree with that but when government takes taxes and creates governments systems and horrible economic systems, its not everyones country anymore. Create a small government that its only job is to enforce the law and protect the country and then ill accept open boarders.

IDGAF if these protests are doing nothing!

I don't agree with BLM, third wave feminism, ect but I feel United as ever! This is the start of a movement you guys. "This won't change anything" no, this changes EVERYTHING! This apathetic generation is SHOOK.

We are witnessing history.

I agree with a lot of your views but you are pressed in every single thread you can oppose. You literally wait for them, it's annoying

Well I like to have discussions with people who oppose me, I hate talking with people who have the same views as me and so when I see a thread that I disagree with, I like to give my opinion and want people to respond to it.. Its something I enjoy and learn alot from so I dont see why you have a huge problem with it! I never disrespect people, attack them or act defensive with my opposing views unless they start personally insulting me.
