Unless you're referring to intellectual/technocratic autocracy which'll never work. Edit: misspelled technocrat as theocrat ! Im saying that in a Libertarian society, people cant vote for their own interest. 6 minutes ago, CowSiss said: I mean: Also, I believe the US should move towards a social democracy, so I would never truly consider becoming a Libertarian or consider getting rid of borders willy-nilly because that would cause chaos for the country in the sense that those who never really had a need to come to America for a better life will take another's dream of a better standard of living and benefit from the misfortune's of those truly suffering. I believe that illegal immigration should not be scrutinized as illegal immigrants will mainly either go back to their homeland, or stay and eventually embark on a path towards citizenship, or at least residentship If I had faith in Man, I could become a Libertarian, but people are horribly flawed and very selfish; there can be no selflessness without some form of selfishness also at play. In the grand scheme of things, it is easier to support and reform a government than to abolish it completely and have faith that everyone is is at a same level of understanding of what the common Good or Goal is I said if you believe in illegal immigration, you should end your government, I did not say I wanted to end government!! 3 minutes ago, Halsey said: That's not liberatian. juicyjuicy 2,005
These people need to protest in the states that voted Republican. Protesting in Democratic states is no use. You want to disrupt the people and cause chaos? Do it where you'll actually cause some chaos. In Texas. In Florida.

Capitalism unregulated is probably the worst thing that could happen. The world is already extremely unequal. As much as i would love to have no borders, decentralised local governance, full freedom etc ... it'll only work if the entire world is on the same playing field. Which it isn't. Yes I agree and thats why I know Libertarian will only happen with human evolution.. just like people in the past believed slavery was something that can never end yet humans evolved and ended it. Libertarian is not something that can be forced, it must be part of the culture for it to work. For now, I just support the smallest government possible. No, it's just a government that can't fully protect its borders. It's unrealistic to think that that US can keep watch of the US/Mexican border, US/Canadian border, or even US maritime borders. By your logic, since the US can't protect its borders 24/7, it's a country that does not exist when it very well does I support having a border to distinguish between cultural, political, and/or geographic boundary

The mess that the middle east is in right now is because its borders were drawn by people who had no understanding of its cultural/political boundaries. The notion of state boundaries is a very western idea. Where I live, rivers used to define regions. To me, borders is something that we already have and millions of people died for them fighting the world wars. Might as well keep them even though thy've become increasingly irrelevant.
