It's all well and good to say everyone should unite and be positive, but this was a nasty election cycle and there are some very real and devastating consequences to this election that  people need to come to terms with. Let people complain, let people vent, let people feel angry. They are not wrong for being upset and angry.

Trump and his supporters have been spreading divisive, toxic rhetoric for over a year. Give progressives and moderates a little bit of a break and allow them more than a few hours to warm up and preach unity.

Impeachment, though no president has been successfully impeached.

He's still going on Trial in a few weeks for fraud charges, but I doubt that's enough. I honestly don't think the house would impeach him even if all of the women who claimed he sexually assaulted him had their time in court and he was found guilty.

He could also step down. Honestly, I feel like Pence & his cabinet will be the ones really running the country, which scares the **** out of me. Trump still knows absolutely nothing about policy or how to govern and he has no filter. He would **** up international relationships immediately and he knows it

I made my peace with this fiasco back when he trail blazed the primaries. Deep down, I knew he would win I just didn't want to really accept it. There is nothing we can do now. We all done our part. The American people voted and whether or not we agree with the outcome, our fate is sealed. All we can do now is sit back, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I'm sure you do hate that Trump won, I don't disagree that it's a good idea to let trump trip himself over, I'm just saying - there is no point in criticising Morphine Prince for making this thread or for criticising people for complaining.

All I am saying is, let people grieve. Let people blow off steam, let people complain, let people feel angry. We can all talk about how important unity is later, but it's been a few hours and some people are understandably going to be very upset.

There is no point in having a rational conversation right now about what's practical. There is no point in turning to people who are understandably upset and angry and going "Hey! I know it's tough! But this sort of thinking isn't helpful! Let's turn that frown upside down and work towards unity!". There is no point in expecting people to just suck it up and come together. That's not going to happen straight away, it wasn't the progressives and moderates who created this divide and it's going to take more than a few hours to heal the divide created by the deeply hateful rhetoric Trump and his supporters have sprouted in the past year.
