Lucas 26,681
I think they fit musically, but DIC doesn't fit lyrically indeed
SpookyKid 15,153
Joanne is not country, it's a pop album Life has a hopeful undertone |-/

AlexanderLevi2 5,849
Yeah, they don't represent the album but Gaga's albums usually stray from having one genre throughout. I'm glad we got them. And PI seems to be the heart and the middle of the album where it changes pace. Currently listening to Joanne
mee 381
Can someone here explain why A-YO sounds country for them ? The beat is too fast for that, it's more a funky rock/pop song. Sinner's Prayer is also not country at all, like Tropic said, it has folk elements + western style. Yes, Million Reasons is a pop song with country and some gospel elements. btw: When it's about pure sound, You & I is much more country than everything on Joanne. In fact Joanne has much more funk pop rock influences than country. But after all, it's still a pop album. In fact it's more classic pop than Gagas previous albums. Because their were electronic dance pop records and Joanne is more connected to traditional pop. 34 minutes ago, TropicOfCANCER said: In fact, i would argue the country influences on the album are extremely light. Thanks Some people really think that electronic pop music is pop and more organic music means it belongs in another genre. After all it is a pop album with americana influences. aaronyoji 2,054
yeah dancing in circles is such a tangent, a little to far out of a reference imo. i like the song, but its only leg to stand on is the fact that its familiar with gaga's old work. which, is arguably a bad thing considering how different the whole album is for her. perfect illusion on the other hand i feel fits. if it wasn't so loud and repetitive towards the end it would kind of flow better with the album imo, but it only sticks out a little too much because its her belting the same phrase the last minute and a half. its definitely the album divider, between its first half and second half. TeenIdle 125,794
Actually my favorite part of the album is the transition from DIC to PI P.S. I had to use this emote. It's so popular rn 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓
Lava 3,423
I don't necessarily agree with this, but I think DH, PI, and DIC would fit on different albums. Diamond Heart sounds like it could be part of The Fame Dancin in Circles and Perfect Illusion could be on The Fame Monster. But I think the whole album is amazing, all songs correspond with each other imo.
Oriane 20,923
I agree with Dancin' in Circles but not for Perfect Illusion, it totally fits ! The only GGD member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!

One of my faves. The lyrics are indeed about masturbation, but one of the main ideas of the song is about being comfortable with feelings of loneliness. I think that totally has a place on an autobiographical album by Gaga.
Runway 27,876
John Wayne, Dancin' in Circles and Perfect Illusion are the heart of the album

President Trump 3,508
lol i knew this topic was going to diss PI. all of these threads start the same. "I swear I love PI" then halfway through "It's overproduced. shame." or "It's just not good." YIKES You know, I love PI, and it is her 2nd best song IMHO come for me with your raised eyebrows and your rolling eyes if you must, little onions Ma ma pa pa pa
MonsterJC 174
I agree. I like PI, and DIC is my jam but they are, musically, outliers in Joanne.
