Why is Gaga so much sadder this era?

I know Gaga is going through a heartbreak due to her split with Taylor, and it must be devastating. And because from my last thread I realized some of you have such creative imaginations I have to state that of course Gaga can be sad whenever she feels it and whatnot. This isn't an 'attack' so y'all better not with the BS today.

I've been catching up on interviews and performances and she just looks extremely sad, depressed and almost like she doesn't want to be out there. Even her posture and her tone, I can't tell if it's real or forced *Kanye shrug* I know when this was asked before a lot of you guys said it was a stripped back thing and a fresh look and so on, but she comes across as worn out if anything (STRICTLY GAGA, NOT MUSIC NOT ALBUM :awkney:). I thought she was at her worst when her management screwed her over with ARTPOP but she seemed happier than ever till she took time off.

Whatever is going on I hope she's truly alright :ohno: She's always crying and sad, and besides the split I can't seem to understand why since she's finally 'getting it her way'.

I think she's been understating her heartbreak. It can totally change a person, and it can take a really long time to move on. Maybe because I can relate, but sometimes I wonder if she thought she could escape it by throwing herself into work, though sometimes it isn't enough.

However, I don't know that I agree she's as sad as you say. I haven't seen her cry that much. She definitely isn't super comfortable in about half the interviews we've seen her in this era. So I can sort of see where you're coming from.

I've noticed the opposite. She appears to be more real and natural. She is happy when she's happy and isn't when she isn't.

I never want another smap X smap 2014 level of fake happiness.

She's never been happier in her career (except Cheek to cheek).

She's heartbroken, I felt it during the Howard Stern interview, but she seems happier compared to how she was during ARTPOP and C2C era. Gosh, I was so worried for her back then, especially during the messy days of DWUW era.

You're right, saying 'always' crying was a wrong term. I guess I mean it's more like the cherry on top to what I've noticed her behaving like recently.

One of those Japan interviews I watched she had this permanent half smile and hunched back while hardly blinking the entire interview and it just felt odd and forced. I don't know if it's cause she's in a forgein country or what lol.

And I agree with you guys she definitely feels more free but I don't think she seems happier.

Gee, I wonder why she'd be sad in an era dedicated to her DEAD AUNT

You'd have an awkward smile if you were doing an interview standing up with 5 people staring at you who have absolutely no clue what you are saying and need to wait for a translator to explain everything

Well she is always discussing a traumatic family experience that has carried through following her and her sisters birth and childhood, and she feels incredibly connected to her aunt which makes this whole album experience that much more emotional for her. On top of that, her split with Taylor. I don't think she always looks sad imo, I don't really expect her to be all happy and cheering while talking about an album that does have that sad, heartfelt undertone re: its significance in her life.

If anything in my opinion she seems more relaxed. As for the interviews in Japan, it's always like that when interviews rely on a translator and you have to wait 20 seconds to hear the question in English then another 20 seconds for them to understand her reply. I wouldn't judge her behaviour in those 20 seconds as indicative of her overall mood lol.
