Polls conducted by these sources are not at all accurate because they way undersample Independents (the largest voting bloc in the country) and 18-34 year olds while way over sampling older people and Dem and Repub identifying people. It's easy to get whatever numbers you want. I have seen numerous polls conducted by CNN that exclude 18-34 - like how difficult is it to find someone in that age group? Do not underestimate these outsiders in a time when Establishment politics is derided and Hillary is the epitome of it all. People are not ignorant. They know there are third party choices. The choices this election period simply are unfavorable for the majority of people. If these third parties had better candidates (Weld at the top and some other viable running mate or someone like McMillan), you would be seeing more support this election cycle. With social media, the majority of people under the age of sixty or seventy don't rely on mainstream media to feed them information. They know there are other candidates outside of the two main party ones, they just find them non acceptable or those third party candidates haven't said anything to make them want to vote for them. So, you are saying that you believe we are going to see much higher percentages for third party candidates than the average of all polls is showing? How much do you think Johnson and Stein will end up getting?

Realistic is not a faux-progressive stance on the Climate Emergency we face while also soliciting and taking millions of dollars from the fossil fuel industry. Realistic is not getting us into war in Syria with nuclear armed Russia by trying to impose a no-fly zone. Realistic is knowing that continued drone strikes and bombings just creates more terrorism. The other parties are just as realistic as the Democratic party. Many rights this country has were brought to the forefront and fought for by third parties. Why are you trying to equate reality with morals? It's not even related. Can you try to read and comprehend before replying? Is the third party going to win or even get more than 2% of the votes? No and that has already been proven by polls. So it is realistic to say that they don't have a chance.

We can do the whole "break the two party system" thing when there isn't an arrogant, destructive, authoritarian, fascist so close to gaining power...that's just my opinion though Hillary's record and close confidants, like war criminal Henry Kissinger, is not all nice and rosy. She is just as dangerous to the world and country as Trump is. Many of the things Trump talks about and Hillary uses to fearmonger, she has actually done and supported. Like voting to build a "border barrier, because they didn't call it a wall." She will continue the Obama policies that has deported well over 3million immigrants, more than many other Presidents combined. People are scared he will start a nuclear war, well she is literally laying out her plans to do just that by antagonizing Russia and threatening to impose a no-fly zone in Syria that would require thousands of ground troops and put us in a direct confrontation with nuclear armed Russia. Next time, it will be more of the same. "OMG! You can't vote 3rd Party because we must stop [insert name] by voting for the "lesser of two evils" because 3rd Parties can't win." It happens every election cycle and won't stop until we break it. This is the time.

As long as the Democratic Party knows how to play their cards right and use te two Party system they will always be the only option for liberals and leftists who are realistic. Polls are not accurate when they consistently undersample Independents and 18-34 year olds and way oversample Dems and Repubs. They can get any kind of number they want. This year, you and the polls will be wrong, because they are getting 2+ percent and I firmly believe it'll be higher if the vote totals are actually accurately reflected. 15 minutes ago, Whispering said: People are not ignorant. How much do you think Johnson and Stein will end up getting? People are most certainly ignorant in this country. A lot don't know and if they do, they immediately write them off because of the stupid notion that they can not win, which is not true. They may know they exist but they don't give them the time of day to actually research them due to propaganda and indoctrination. Jill's platform is the closest to Bernie Sanders', so many of his supporters should gravitate to her, but they're either not informed about her, guilted into voting for Hillary, or don't believe she can win, etc. The polls have consistently been inaccurate all year long and they tend to leave people out that are important. They oversample Repubs and Dems and undersample Independents and 18-34 (sometimes leaving out the latter all together) all the time. Many people don't have their minds made up entering the polls, so that could help them since T and C are so highly unliked. If it is reflected accurately, I believe that they could easily take 5% a piece, if not higher.

Johnson is only performing that well because he is a former Republican Governor, who already had some name recognition and he is more of a Conservative than Jill, so he appeals to an older group of people that tend to be more fiscally conservative and less "big government", but also some young people too. I think Jill will get five percent. Johnson will probably get higher. It will definitely be higher than just 1% because so many people are pissed off at the two main parties and a lot are disgruntled because of the bs primary that occurred between Bernie and Hillary. I make my points and I have to several people. What do they do? They take it in and consider it. Not just dismiss it, call it pointless and worthless and resort to equating me to an unintelligent imbecile that can't read or comprehend basic English. THAT is being condescending, immature and disrespectful. You don't want people to get pissed off at your stupid comments, then think before you type out those stupid words and post them. Otherwise, you're definitely going to get a negative response.
