KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
Raina Aliev, formerly Adam, was dismembered in Moscow after marrying a man known as Viktor, in Russia. Just days earlier her father – who disowned Raina – issued a chilling warning to his daughter, saying: "Let him be killed, I don't want to see him. Bring him here and kill him in front of my eyes." http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/727355/transgender-muslim-woman-dismembered-dad-tv-threat-moscow-russia This world needs a change, and if these people can't accept other's ways of life, they need to leave this world ASAP. Respect to be respected. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?
boobtank 9,090
I read this a couple of days ago, it really ****ing annoyed me that they misgender her in this article, even if they are quoting the father, I just think it's disrespectful. Rest in peace angel

Rest in peace angel You can't change someone's quote because you find it offensive. It would be far more disrespectful to the memory of this woman to misquote and censor her Father in order make him sound less ignorant. It would be dishonest. Mentioning after the quote that her Father is using the wrong pronoun, and explaing why that is offensive to trans individuals, would be appropriate. This is a tragedy, and it's vitally important that we not censor bigots in order to not offend our delicate sensibilities.

You have a valid point, I just think it's insensitive to the victim of the crime, for the article to be littered with he/his, then have pictures of her before she transitioned attached and her dead body. I dunno, I just find the whole thing really tasteless. If I was a personal friend of hers or family member I would not be happy with this.

The article was written using female pronouns except when quoting her Father, and as far as I can tell, there is only one pre-transition photograph while there are a number of photographs of her presenting as a woman. Including the image of her corpse is tasteless, but this is a tasteless news source which often shows graphic images, so I can't imagine her being trans had anything to do with it. Lava 3,796
This is honestly so tragic. My heart aches for every trans man or woman in the world. No one deserves to die for choosing to be who they want to be. It's such a shame that this seriously happens to people around the world. Spread kindness and be nice to one another. Rest in Peace, Angel. And guys, if no one else has told you they love you, I love you.
