Bernie Sanders, who is out campaigning for his former rival, Hillary Clinton, was in Iowa over the weekend. And in a moment that illustrated just how hard it’s been for Clinton to woo millennial voters still feeling the proverbial Bern, an Iowa State University student introducing the Vermont senator had to be escorted from the stage for trashing the Democratic nominee.

Kaleb Vanfosson, a sophomore political science major and president of the school’s Students for Bernie club, began his speech talking about student debt.

“While the part-time reality star and full-time bigot Donald Trump thinks that hard-working immigrants are what’s wrong with our country, he fails to even talk about this issue,” Vanfosson said. “But unfortunately Hillary doesn’t care about this issue either.”

Big banks, the military-industrial complex and “her good friend Henry Kissinger” are “the only ones that can trust Hillary,” said, drawing applause.

“She is so trapped in the world of the elite that she has completely lost grip of what it’s like to be an average person,” Vanfosson continued as campaign staffers could be seen scrambling near the side of the stage. “She doesn’t care. voting for the lesser of two evils? There’s no point.”

Vanfosson was then forcibly removed from the stage. (He told the Iowa State Daily that he was “basically assaulted” while being escorted out of the hall.)

Since defeating Sanders in the Democratic primary, Clinton has struggled at times to convince some younger voters who were enamored with the self-described democratic socialist’s progressive message — and skeptical of her pragmatic approach and ties to Wall Street.

I hope Bernie told them backstage how disappointed he is in them.

Not to mention: Bernie could be the next leader of a Democrat-lead parliament. He could be just as influential as Hillary in the next elections. Together they could make sh*t happen.

But the world is totally gone because Bernie symbolically lost to Hillary fair and square.

No but on serious note, the guy had the opportunity to INTRODUCE Bernie Sanders to an important rally, and he goes on to pull this ****- in FRONT of Bernie mind you? Just awful. I hope Bernie got to speak with him backstage or something to express his disappointment.

Well, what he said was not "trashing" her. It was the truth. Her campaign has been funded almost entirely of donations given by those industries - industries that throw Americans, and people around the world, under the bus every day and destroy people's livelihoods, every day. She actively sought the endorsement of Henry Kissinger, a war criminal, and bragged about him advising her on foreign policy. In one of her many high dollar, back room speeches, she even exclaimed that she is "out of touch with the average American." So, nothing here is a lie or distortion.

The speaker was correct in everything he said. Voting for a "lesser evil" is no choice at all - it is still EVIL. Hillary brought this on herself. You can not go around and act like a Progressive and say one thing to a crowd of people, but then solicit HUGE donations from the things you're going to "stand up to" and have a not-so-Progressive record to back that up. The platform is non-binding and means nothing to her.

She did not win the Primary "fair and square" no matter how many times you hear that repeated or repeat it to yourself. There were so many lawsuits filed for voter fraud (like the bussing in of unregistered people to caucus for her in Nevada from California and Senator Reid calling his casino buddies to ask them to let workers take extended breaks to caucus for her) and voter suppression across the country. When 400+ Super Delegates (who don't vote until the Convention and only do so to pick the strongest candidate to face opposition, which they did not as evident by how close the race is right now when she's running against an orange-faced fool who shouldn't be this hard to beat) latch on to her campaign from the beginning and the complicit media refuses to differentiate them to make it seem like she has an insurmountable lead, polling locations are drastically reduced a week or two before the state primaries in many states occur - making it more difficult for people to vote, hundreds of thousands of people are just "mysteriously" removed from voter rolls (over 200K alone in Brooklyn, NY) or illegally switched to a different party, a complicit media that takes hit pieces and distortions from her campaign and runs them as if they're true news, sends debate questions ahead of time to her campaign and calls the election before people have even finished voting, including the largest state in the Union and a biased party that violates its own freaking charter to help her campaign - causing FIVE people in leadership roles, including the Party Chair, to step down, is definitely not "fair and square" no matter how hard you try to sugar coat it.

She brought this on her self because she just had to have "her turn." She brought it on herself because she says one thing and then does another and there's loads of evidence for her inconsistencies, including her terrible record. If she loses, it is nobody's fault but her, the media and the Democratic National Committee's fault for utterly pissing people off and really proving to the country that she is the epitome of what everyone detests in a politician. It has nothing to do with her being a woman and everything to do with her just being her, so don't try to throw the sexism card in here when I and many other ex-Sanders supporters have voted and will vote for a woman, Jill Stein.
