see this is basically the issue...  you are complaining that she looks old and "masculine" and isn't fitting the image you have of a pop star.  I'm thankful that Gaga fights against these stereotypes and would encourage you to think about why it's so important to you that Gaga fit that image you have.

Is it fighting against stereotypes when she is not accepting herself?

Her "old self" was much more imperfect (i.e. her nose).

I have no image of a popstar (I only stan Gaga) but Gaga didn't fit in then and she certainly doesn't now.

It is important she fits my image I have of h er because that was what she was projecting to her fans at least half of her career (Born This Way, Emotion Revolution, her speech about beauty).

Gaga had a lot of intented "ugly" looks, but changing what she was born with is very disappointing to me. But it's my opinion.

there are misconceptions here, imo. I also think that she's not being very herself, and puts a strange act that looks awkward and is unecessary. Sorry but it's not very pretty that she's hiding herself that way, even more when she's trying so hard to be genuine and honest. I mean, if she slayed it but not even that happens, it just looks strange and makes her sound strange, and i must add that she sings differently with different clothes.

Summing up, she's not fighting a stereotype, she's covering herself in the very few clothes she has on (compared to ton of makeup she used to have).

Though she knows it's expected of her to be the not normative pop star, she should just embrace feminity and be more masculine when she really feels it. Cause she clearly likes to be very girly and there's no problem, but she surely feels the need to man up and i can see the daddy issues she talks about. It could be a way of her telling us all that, but at least slay us while doing so, an artist can do everything but the execution of it is what matters.

What I find funny is how people dismiss 30 year old pop stars as old but then bag on ariana for looking 12 like what do you want :saladga:

Wait, so somehow she's being dishonest about herself this era while dressing down and apparently "masculine" but her girlie persona from previous expression was her true self she should be maintaining?  there is literally no reason to believe that is the case.
