I'm worried about my standom

As someone who already was a fan of Father John Misty, Beck, bands like Tame Impala, No Doubt and Rolling stones, this is the direction I've been craving gaga to go into. I love the EDM songs and the Dark synths and dance music of prior days but there's something about Joanne that just grabs me more than any other album of hers.

I listen to all those artists you listen to and i'm still not crazy about Joanne.

I LOVE Joanne. But it's not the kind of music I like to listen to daily, on repeat, over and over.

ARTPOP was. I kept that album in my car CD player for OVER A YEAR and listened pretty much every day driving to work (and driving home). I literally could NOT stop. And I'm still not tired of it.

I listened to Joanne again this morning before work, but it was the first time in several days.

This is not to say one album is better than the other, but just personal taste.

I don't think that's a necessarily a good or bad thing. It's a very different solo record for Gaga, and it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. And even if you like the album, it doesn't mean you have to listen to it every day. I love a lot of albums that I barely even listen to just because there is so much music in the world, how are you supposed to listen to one thing or one person all the time?

Don't worry about your "standom." Gaga's music constantly changes, so maybe the next one will be more up your alley. In the mean time, you're more than welcome to come enjoy the visuals, events, tour, and all the other good stuff that comes with a new era with us here.

the thing that Joanne's missing is FUN. its very emotional and sad. it overshadows the album.

A-YO cant even save it

That is the whole point, this album isn't recorded for having fun   but to reconnect with her roots and healing :awkney:

I listen to it so much more than her other albums because it's her most easy listening album tbh. It's not as hard on the ears as her uptempo Electropop albums and I love it for that. I will admit that it sort of lacks the creative intricacies and details that are everywhere in BTW and AP, so I could see why the album could get old quickly. But there are other things on the album like the organic nature of the music and the rawness of her vocals that keep me listening to it so often. It's all about what you're looking for in her album. For me, this easy listening album from Gaga that I could play while relaxing or studying instead of bopping to it was just what I needed.

I haven't even listened to the album in its entirety in one sitting. I can only get trough a handful of songs. And based on the replies you've gotten -- you and I are not alone. I haven't even been logging into to gagadaily much anymore. I wonder -- is it noticeably quieter around here than the BRW and ARTPOP era post-album release? This album seems to have cleaved off even more of her fan base than anything else she's done to date. :awkney:
