That's fine. Just because you're not into a album doesn't mean you aren't a Stan. I feel the say about ARTPOP, it doesn't excite me at all anymore.

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

I agree. But the era is really fun so far and I'm still waiting for more music videos and tour.

I miss her pop eras

Yes it is fun so far and this is total pop music though, and yeah I cant wait for more music videos, I was a little bit disappointed with the PI vid because its so flashy and makes me dizzy lol, but pi as a song is awesome I think. I'm sure we have plenty to look forward to Joanne-wise.

I know how you feel because I felt that way with ARTPOP. I thought that lacked the oomph and was very lacklustre.

Just stick it out. If this era doesn't grow on you then the next era might be one you like.

I guess this can be expected when any artist changes their musical style. The great thing about Gaga's music in particular is that for those who don't like this album, there is a good chance you may like the next one, since it will likely be very different.

It's all a matter of opinion, and of course some people will not be as into her new music as her old music. This happened to some people with Born this Way and ARTPOP as well. At the same time, many people who didn't like ARTPOP do like Joanne, and Vice Versa.

Luckily I love it all. But I will say Joanne is more similar to other music I like, so naturally I would love it the most. On the other hand, for someone else, maybe someone who likes dance beats throughout, Joanne would obviously not be for them (not saying that's the only reason people don't like it, just an example).

i agree with you. The album is good but it just lacks the interesting flavour all her previous albums had. It lacks those dance/upbeat tracks. It also doesn't help the radios aren't playing anything from the album.

I will say that Gaga kind of payed dust to PI with that music video. It's cool at least. The video could have been so spooky and haunting, I feel like that would have been a better fit than the "let's just rock out" vibe Gaga was going for.

That video is perfection.

I love Joanne, but I'm not obsessed with the album like I used to be with ARTPOP. So at this point I know AP will remain my fave album of Gaga. But that doesn't take away from my enjoying the new material.

It's definitely my second fave and her other 3 records barely connect with me. I guess ARTPOP will always carry that special memory of becoming a stan which can never happen twice.

My only issue with Joanne is that it free falls after Sinner's Prayer (bar Angel Down). So an excellent mature and very touching record crashes midway. Joanne alone made me cry and is already my favourite Gaga song. Sinner's Prayer and Dancing in Circles are absolute jewels. But Come to Mama and Just Another Day are so typical, like they could be sung by any other singer. ARTPOP, on the other hand, had the most bizarre lyrics, and almost all songs scream GAGA to me. Also I can't even express how disappointing Hey Girl is; and Grigio Girls is easily out there with the worst Gaga songs ever released. I've already deleted this parody from my devices cause it annoys the hell out of me and I always have to skip it.

As someone who already was a fan of Father John Misty, Beck, bands like Tame Impala, No Doubt and Rolling stones, this is the direction I've been craving gaga to go into. I love the EDM songs and the Dark synths and dance music of prior days but there's something about Joanne that just grabs me more than any other album of hers.

I still listen to it.  I'm going through cycles of listening to like 1/3 of the album on repeat for one segment of time and then moving on to the 2nd third and so on.

Right now I'm in love with Diamond Heart, DIC, Sinners Prayer, and Come to Mama. :flutter:
