jereve 1,627
Meh. Born This Way rises on its own. It has great overproduced instrumentals beyond its time. Dark disco rock vibe. Thats my thing. But its not the best album, for me. ARTPOP still remains imperfectly perfect. The layers and layers of musical dimensions oozing out ridiculous magical melodies. It's the most underrated yet the craziest album she has ever put out. YOU BETTER FURKIN SLÉ

RochestrMonstr 3,181
Hair was my anthem that whole year. The whole album is full of anthems, but that one always really connected to me because of how often I changed my hair back then! I remember at first being overwhelmed by how much was going on in my ears the first time I listened to the album as a whole. It definitely took time to understand each song, which I loved! BTW is my third favorite Gaga album. Joanne is just perfection IMO so that takes 1st place, but I think the crazy ARTPOP still takes second place for me, just by a little bit. It's like your mother trying to make you eat vegetables(social message) which you know are good for you but you don't want them, and hide them in the meat(dance songs) you love so much :P She acctually was trying to be authentic with real intruments, but it didn´t work... I like electronic sounds more, but BTW was a weird mixture of both and it didn´t quite fit together 6 hours ago, AlexanderLevi2 said: You are definitely allowed your opinion but what do you mean by messy productions? I hear this a lot but everyone has a different say about what it means to them. I kind of actually like the try-hard feel and it makes it campy in a way. Like the "Operation: Kill The Bitch" at the concert. I almost cried laughing the first time I saw that BUT it's iconic. Unpolished and distorted sounds in MTN, BTW, Hair, BJ, Bad Kids, HU, Electric Chappel, FOHL.... basically every song (maybe except Scheisse, Judas, BM and HML) has some kind of flaw and for example the use of saxophone, in CTM it feel genuine, like it belongs to the song naturally, while in Hair or TEOG it feels like "hey, let´s add sax so we can say that we´re innovative and genuine" it feels forced, all of it, trying to make it into a perfection, but it´s pretty much overdone... while Joanne really feels plausible in terms of a genuine and natural use of the sounds they used And yeah, Operation: Kill the bitch is hands down one of the most iconic things she´s done tbh but I wouldn´t compare it with music...
