Impostor 4,114
Björk: “Maybe some things won’t be immaculate, but it will push you out of the comfort zone. Looking at my favourite music, I really love albums where there were two or three songs that are amazing, but wouldn’t have happened unless the person had gone to that particular place and did seven OK songs, but three magic ones." - Taken from the SS 2016 issue of AnOther I read that and I thought about Gaga's albums. It is true. Maybe The Fame wasn't polished enough, or Born This Way wasn't as strong as The Fame Monster, or ARTPOP was messy, or Joanne was not as exciting as the previous eras - but the direction of everything made some really good songs, videos and moments. I think that's why we shouldn't be bitter about eras.

hELXIG 43,098
I've heard so many really talented artists and songwriters say that it takes writing 30 songs until you get one that's a hit. That they write hundreds of songs for an album, and then cull it down to the 12 best ones. I guess it's just the best way to write! Or make any art. I think that's why people who are afraid to fail never succeed, because it takes those 30 failed attempts and crap art pieces until you get one that's amazing. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
Buddy 5,686
Except every song on The Fame and The Fame Monster are amazing, Born This Way's majority is fantastic, innovative, and ahead of its time. ARTPOP is deeply misunderstood.. pop music that makes you go "What the ****?" In bits, but pulls you in with a captivating pop hook/chorus. In my opinion, ARTPOP contains her most solid pop work, but challenges it's listener with oddity. Most of the tracks succeed at that. So yeah, this doesn't really apply to Gaga. Not to be rude, but why is thread after thread after thread being made daily trying to try and convince people to like the Joanne era? I've seen every excuse trying to explain why we should be ok with the lackluster aspects of this era. We shouldn't have to be trying so hard to feel content with it. If you feel like it's missing something, you feel like it's missing something. I sure do and I'm not afraid to admit it.
