White people have attended the BET awards before. Tori Kelly even performed and brought the crowd to their feet. No one cared. No one banned her from being remembered there. What's your point?

Gaga's won a BET award  And Sam Smith  Plus the BET awards have a very different focus. It's about awarding Black excellence in the media because white mainstream media all to often, both currently and historically, fails to recognize and award the brilliance of black art. And sometimes white artists with music rooted in black culture do win (Sam Smith) but the aim is about awarding black people. The CMAs are awards for country music. Anyone can make/do country music. Beyonce made a country song. She performed it at a country music event. She's from Houston. No one batted an eye when Katy performed with Dolly last year. The backlash Beyonce is receiving is 100% about her being a black woman.

I can only refer you to @Haroon and @Admin, but you should know that there's nothing much they can do either. If the abuse is serious you have to dial the police. Or you could just block that person, report their posts and profile on Instagram.

Ok, granted, I genuinely did not know that. That pretty much changes everything. My points about her not being authentic enough to perform at a country awards still stands but now I see that the hate driving all this from viewers must have nothing to do with that. I have never actually watched the CMAs and I just assumed that everyone who performed on it must be country or have made a country album or be featured on a track with a country artist. I usually research before all my posts but this was one thing I thought didn't need researched, it was a given, seeing how protective country fans are of their music and how much they hate pop and mainstream culture, etc. So, it turns out that plenty of white popstars that have nothing to do with country have performed before and no one cared? But Beyonce performs (and an actual country song of her own at that) and the viewers don't like it? Well, in that case, it must be racism and nothing more. I thought that authencity was partly behind the outrage but this information has made things loud and clear. I'm happy to throw my hands up when I got it wrong.

See, this is what I'm talking about when I say that if people want to throw racism accusations around, they need solid proof. This is solid proof.
