In one final shot at his former primary rival Donald Trump, Ohio Gov. John Kasich wrote-in Arizona Sen. John McCain for president.

According to a cleveland.com report on Monday, Chris Schrimpf, the governor's political spokesman, confirmed Kasich cast his ballot for the 2008 Republican nominee even though he is not an official write-in candidate for president in Ohio.

Schrimpf said Kasich voted for Republicans on the rest of his absentee ballot

Kasich should have been the R nominee.

Some people were predicting that he was the only GOP candidate that could actually beat Hillary. Probably 'cause he was the only capable and mature one. While the others were taking cheap shots and comparing wives, he was there wondering "so when do we start talking about, you know...policies and stuff?".

OT: Stick it to the Drumpf-ster!!

I agree.

Actually imagine if this ended up Sanders vs. Kasich.

It would not be the circus it is now.

I find that childish and pointless.

Voting for McCain in 2016 = literally flushing your vote down the toilet.

Kasich, (just as McCain or Romney) would have been invisible next to Hillary. Basically they would hand Hillary the presidency without a fight. Guess he wants another 4 years of Obama type policy.

It would be 100% policy driven. Oh how the parties ****ed us over. RNC and DNC.

Explain the "Obama type policy" that seems to irritate you so deeply?

Maybe he just doesn't want a burning dumpster a la Trump.

I'm not sure what made you think I'm deeply irritated about something.

Ideally, the president of the US would be someone who is the absolute undisputed BEST  at their job without much of a doubt. It's been decades of mediocrity or worse in these elections. If anything irritates me, it's that

Kasich might have actually had a chance to beat Hillary because the RNC was still pushing their whole "EMAILS! BLARGH!" agenda with Hillary, which counts on the viewers being ignorant and susceptible, so even though Hillary is still arguably better on basically everything policy wise than him.

Honestly, Kasich vs Sanders would've been my ideal, at least two level-headed candidates who honestly care about this country, (though Sanders is a CLEAR win in my mind)
