He was directly asked about Gaga being a good fit for the role. I think both fans of Gaga and the show would be quite confused if he responded with "I don't know" or "Maybe". I doubt she will do it though if shooting begins anytime next year. She has superbowl on feb 2017 so this Dec/Jan we can expect her to rehearse, she tours after the SB, then filming A Star is Born by end of 2017.
