Really? People are in a rut over a reagae beat but they aren't cumming over the fact that A-yo was stolen from High School Musical?

okay? and tell that to all the "afro-rhythmic" songs that came before both of these? You cannot plagiarize 4 things, song titles,  rhythms, most lyrics, and chord progressions. So please bye with this mess.

It's very similar, but it's also pretty generic in terms of the actual beat / structure. Normally when people compare plagiarism, it's a hook or melody. Or a very specific rythm section that defines the work. There is also some pretty specific requirements that need to be met in order to claim that it's the exact same. Sounding the same isn't alone enough to deem something stolen.

I guess you could say they are very similar. Gaga song is obviously way different when you get to the chorus, as well as the actual production. But the rythm of the beat + how the vocals are performed over it (in the pre-chorus) - is what sounds similar.

Honestly tho, it would be such a pointless thing to steal. Gagas song doesn't rely on it, and it's not a make a break moment for the track.

As a side note, hearing MIA song, it sounds like she's just mumbling over a demo track lol

Lol well if folks are feeling that technical let's clock the tea where it needs to be clocked. "Drop down and get ya eagle on" is old as the day is long. So let's talk about that. We gon' drag M.I.A for using those lyrics?

LOL I Love M.I.A but Dancing in Circles> Bird Song but other than Arular, Kala, Maya, and Matangi any of these albums> Lady Gaga's discography.

The beat is very basic, like in Alejandro.

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

They DO sound alike and that is what you get when you jump on a pop bandwagoned sound. Both sound alright, just saying.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
