Im sorry diplo and M.I.A invented that tropical drum beat. Then half of music in the world copied her. These pressed stans are getting really annoying.

I noticed it the very first time I listened to DIC. Even the beginning sounds quite similar. And the remix is not that different to the original. But again ,the similarity only in that beginning part and I don't even care to share this to others at first place. We don't need this kind of controversy anymore it's tiring.

I actually heard this song yesterday, Joanne must have warned me of the firestorm to come :neyde:

But in all seriousness, this song do not sound like Gaga copied M.I.A. It's a huge reach and yeah they share some similarity aesthetics, but this beat style has been seen in "Sorry" and "Cheap Thrills" Did Gaga and BloodPop copy M.I.A. and Diplo? Did M.I.A. and Diplo copy Sia and Greg Kurstin? Did they copy Justin and BloodPop who basically copied and appropriated both tropical house and reggae vibes?

For real, like next thing you know they'll say John Wayne sounds like made by Carrie Underwood or Miranda Lambert and that Million Reasons sounds like Florida Georgia Line. Grab some chill and heat in the microwave if you need to get off on making irascible assumptions of two varying songs :madge:

Spoiler

I'm even more disgusted by the fact that I'm listing off country artists who I actually have an idea exist, more so FGL than anything else but still :madge:

I hope you're kidding because Diplo and M.I.A. did not create the tropical drum beat you speak of. I mean, they helped popularize moombahton, but that in itself was inspired by tropical drum beats that have already existed: reggae says hi, dancehall says hello as well, reggaeton bids you welcome... :madge:

omg they're both very similar lol it's such a small part of DIC though. could also be a coincidence (probably this). but the similarity is there.
