LaLuna 12,732
As much as I love BTW and ARTPOP, Joanne is a lot more cohesive and relatable. It just feels so much more honest. With Joanne, Gaga really lets the music speak for itself, and I love that her vocals are allowed to shine. And there is not one weak song on that album IMO. So yeah, it's my favorite, and even if it was a flop of epic proportions and everyone was dragging it to the fiery pits of hell, it wouldn't change my opinion

Chelseaaaaaa 1,453
Born This Way. Flawless visuals, amazing interviews, era defining performances, her best tour, memorable music videos..... It also was an ambitious album for the time in every aspect (but especially due to the social justice themes and fresh sound). I think Joanne is innovative in its own way, but it doesn't quite have the originality or guts this album does. It was the first time she made legendary pop while wearing her influences on her sleeve. The Fame sounds dated in retrospect (not in the "this is saaaaah vintage!" way either) and was quite simple far as MVs and visuals go. The Fame Monster didn't borrow so much from the past the way BTW (& even Joanne) did which might be ideal for some, but I like to know where Gaga's been. It was the perfect balance of serious Gaga and fun Gaga. She challenged fans, the GP, and the critics but didn't alienate anyone; unlike ARTPOP, which is actually my 2nd fav Gaga album, but alas.... I don't think we'll ever see her like this again, and that's fine, but for me it was LG's apex!
