A lot of young people also like to follow the trends of their friends, gaga isn't popular amongst young people, nor older people, she's kind of stuck in the middle without a real audience here unfortunately. Still massively known and discussed but her music isn't that popular. The UK has always had such a quick turn-over and is usually ahead of a majority of trends but it seems they just aren't here for this trend. It doesn't help that Joanne feels very much like a US album, it's got the references to the US and it's also got the country influence. It might climb after more promo but I'm not banking on it. ARTPOPistah 287
However promo means nothing: in Italy, France and so many other countries she hardly ever promotes her albums (just radio prerecorded interviews) and she's still huge and gets #

They clearly are more 'into' Gaga than UK. I would love another X Factor or Graham Norton or even a special one off like she did for BTW and ARTPOP I'm also surprised Elvis does still have such a big following after all these years. I do wish that she'd done Graham Norton and XFactor, I never expected her to debut at number 1, especially when Elvis Presley has an album out the same day, he has a HUGE following here in the UK! Exactly - I'm from the UK too, and I wouldn't have had any idea she'd just released a new album unless I was a fan. Yeah that's what I mean, number 3 is great to be honest, I will say though that people where I'm from around my age have an awful taste in music, like the clubs I go to they play Drake non stop, at a gay night aswell no gay bops at all. It sucks. She really does need to get here ASAP she could have a hit on her hands with AYO and Million Reasons!
