I ALWAYS have this concern of Gaga. She's a huge risk taker and that's why my heart sinks everytime she's doing a potentially carreer ending gig (if she ****s it up that is). She hasn't let me down yet.

I said semi-tragic, she's only hit notes accurately ~70% of the time and her vocal tone has vastly deteriorated.

You can tell her lower range has been thinned a lot, hence they come out as very airy notes. Her voice was very rich during the ARTPOP and C2C eras.

I think that's why she has the gagging throat position to make it sound thicker but the notes just come out flat. (Watch Dive Bar 3 Angel Down, absolute mess)

Also, she's not controlling her voice as well as before. The bridge + final chorus of Million Reasons have always been a mess live. She doesn't hit the notes properly because she can't change placements as smoothly as before.

My only worry is that the vocal damage done by smoking is permanent. I initially thought that it was just vocal fatigue but every performance: dive bar shows, SNL and CK, has shown that it may not be just fatigue. Her speaking voice has not only become raspier but also more airy. Watch the very start of CK.

Im not trying to put Gaga down with my comments. It's just that I love her so much it pains me that she might be destroying a very precious gift she has - her voice.

Deflate-gate is why the ratings were through the roof that year, nothing to do with the halftime act (just like every year). People don't tune in droves just for the halftime act alone. Either something scandalous happening with the game, or two popular teams playing each other (like the Dallas Cowboys vs. the New York Giants or whatever) would have to happen for the ratings to be higher.
