You're right, I just checked and it's right in the middle !

Well nothing is simple in art, you don't just take a picture like this, there's some research behind it.

nothing is simple, yes. but y'all are taking completely random objective things and coming to off the wall subjective conclusions. and no, there's not "research", there may be some intention, but those are entirely unknown unless the photographer or LG herself were to point that out.

"My fans think everything is kryptic", and btw she retweeted a post of the cover meaning back in the day, so I guess that was it

Of course I'm not saying I'm true, we may never know what meaning exactly Gaga and the photographer wanted to put in this. But every piece of art is open to analysis, right ?

Right! That's totally true. Just in the original post, how would you know that she is looking to the left to be looking to the past?

It's a rather known fact in photography/movie that looking to the left is looking into the past and looking to the right is looking into the future. Not always, artists are free to do what they want after all but they still have to apply to certain rules because it's in the collective unconscious (it would be bad for example for a politician to do an ad where he's looking to the left, unless he's very conservative).

In this precise case I think it's relevant, she talks about her family, Joanne, comes back to her roots in a way...

I think that's definitely fair enough as a suggested idea. The profile shot is generally directed to the right as its the future and seems optimistic.

Not everything in this thread is a reach, but I really think she only had a couple things in mind. The dad tattoo had to be shown for sure, and she needed to be looking upward.
