It's amazing how much I dislike the work tape versions

In comparison, they're just complete opposites.

Same. They sound like bad live versions, like Gaga isn't paying attention to trying to sound good and is just (self indulgently) singing solely through emotion Its interesting for fans to listen to but I don't think these versions should be put on anything the public is going to consume.

I think it's part of her showing the "real musician" side of her, one of her goals with this album. It's very unusual that Gaga released early demos officially when she won't even give us some B-side tracks that are fully polished (and probably should have made it to an album by now!).
