She marched in Washington to support gay marriage, brought queer discharged members of the American military with her to the VMAs, she held her own rally in support of the repeal DADT, she has written songs about immigration, gay marriage, and now Black Lives Matter. Why on Earth would you expect her to not be political now, when we are days away from an election that could result in Donald Trump (though unlikely) being elected president?
