This is probably why gaga don't do duets, even when the song is about not competing, people put go and compare........

Of course she doesnt. Her last album was only a pure duets album with Tony bennet with only 3 songs she sang solo

No duets indeed :awkney:

I was *JUST* listening to Hey Girl on the drive home a few minutes ago.

Personally, I adore Florence's vocals in this song. Such incredible timbre and soul.

For me, it's Florence. She just sounds so effortless. Beautiful.

Florence's voice is perfectly imperfect while Gaga's sounds so strong but disciplined. I would have to say Gaga though, which I'm surprised to admit because Florence's voice is so iconic.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

I like both their vocals but their vocals don't mesh well in the song. If both of them sang the song as a solo, both versions would sound amazing. Gaga has these airy, angelic vocals that complement the soothing and supportive nature of the song, especially at the end when her vocals start to fade out. It feels and sounds like heaven, and I'm left wanting to hear more so I usually give "Hey Girl" an encore or few

Florence's vocals are a lot stronger and a more pronounced than Gaga's in the song. This is Florence pulling back and she still outshines Gaga in terms of vocals in "Hey Girl" which is still weird. If she recorded this solo, it would sound just as amazing but less sort and wispy compared to a Gaga solo version

However, I would have to give this one to Florence. She definitely makes her verses her own, a little too much her own, enough so that it takes away from Gaga's verses and overpowers Gaga's soft voice... but that's just my opinion :gaycat:

Florence's voice has always been confusing to me. It has always seemed like she can't sustain a note without her voice breaking. Her vibrato is also very interesting, but not my favorite in terms of quality. Together, they make the song amazing though...

Gaga.

Florence has a unique, compelling instrument, but there was a precision to Gaga's delivery which fit the song better. Florence's melisma is not her strong suit, but her belting in the chorus was divine.

Never understood the Florence love. Her voice sounds like my 12 year old nephew as his voice is trying to break.
