Bebe 17,289
Whatever you think of Jill Stein and Gary Johnson, there should be more mainstream townhalls and debates including them. The top 4 candidates should have a chance to debate and be a part of the conversation. More choice can only be a good thing in a democracy.

I think the rules should be that if your on the ballot in enough states that you can win the election, you should be allowed to debate

I like a two party system because it demands majority. If there were 3 or 4 serious contenders, that would work in Trump's favor. The ONLY way he could win would be if you could win with less than 40% of the vote - and he probably would. Hitler for example only had 30%. BlaqJezus 1,027
For some finer speakers and finer statesman than these two perhaps. Hard to choose when you see ill-informed candidates like Gary Johnson, trying to run for president, and possibly ****ing things up for the rest of us if he pulls enough for Trump to win. Jill Stein is sort of just meh with me, I have watched some of her public speaking moments, and I don't find her a great candidate either.

Hitler for example only had 30%. The problem with a 2 party system is that the U.S is now essentially stuck with 2 of the most unpopular candidates in history. The problem you have could be fixed through instant-runoff preferential voting, something I also think the U.S should have. It's a system that ensures a candidate that only has 30% of people supporting them, with even 60% despising him, would have a very difficult time getting elected. Clinton has a 56% unfavorability rating, while Trump has 63%. That's not a system that gives a majority of voters what they want. "If there were 3 or 4 serious contenders, that would work in Trump's favor." I also disagree with that, if there were 3 to 4 serious contenders then I'm sure there would be a candidate for conservative voters that don't like Trump
mmm 879
Shes amazing I really like her.. im not a Liberal but if I was an American, I would vote for her even against my party Gary Johnson who is horrible. I love what she said about voting for lesser of two evils and how Hilary is worse than Trump in many ways yet when I say this, im called a Trump supporter! People are shocked why as a Muslim I prefer Trump.. well this video below explains why this is:
LibraLove 1,282
Jill is fantastic! She is an amazing, intelligent woman with great vision of America! Complete energy autonomy through green renewable energy that will pay for itself through health benefits. No more useless wars for oil that create more terrorism and destroy people's lives. A Green New Deal that creates 20million well paying jobs to transition the country to green energy and pull us out of this stagnant economy. We have to take Climate Change seriously and literally "declare war" on it, because it is the greatest threat we face as a country and a world. I share her vision and that's why I'm voting for her. I don't let fear blur the real issues that are important right now.
POP2 4,206
2 party system makes more sense. A winner should have to get over 50% of the votes casted. If you have a 4 party system, you will have someone get 34%, another get 30%, another get 26% and another get 10%... 34% of the population should not be able to pick. At the moment in the U.S you don't need to get over 50% of the votes casted to win. You just need a majority. In the current system someone with 34% of the votes could win.... You don't need over 50% of the votes, you just need to have more votes than anyone else. Your problem is not with multiple candidates, your problem is with the FPTP voting method that the U.S currently has - it's got nothing to do with 3rd parties. What you would want is Instant runoff preferential voting, likely with 4+ parties running. It would be the most effective method of deciding who the majority prefer as president. You don't need to like TYT or even like Jill Stein, but I mean f*ck her for finding a platform where she can actually address voters directly and answer their questions right? Her town hall was aired on CNN honey but no one cared about her... and they still don't ... why? Also, a person who appears on conspiracy today (aka TYT) should not even think of being in the White House.... so again... bye Jill
