YeehawKylie 7,817
What are you favorite qualities of the album, now that it is out? I personally love that this is a departure for Gaga. Sure, call it "her roots" and what not, perhaps we've heard undertones of this in her previous albums, but this truly stands out as different for her in regards to her discography and I love that about 'Joanne'. While you all know (or should) that I adore ARTPOP, it's something I expected from Gaga. If you asked me a year ago what LG5 would sound like, I would not have pegged this at all. Furthermore, I love how Gaga is right...this album didn't adhere to radio trends. While some songs could be commercially marketable (AYO, Dancin' in Circles), as a whole, the album does not represent what I think of when I hear "music of 2016". Other little qualities I love: - The ballad/anthem that is Grigio Girls. I know it will not happen, but how beautiful would it be to close the Super Bowl set with this song? - The folk influences on the title track. It truly reminds me of an early 70s Joan Baez song. It's such a beautiful song in memory of Joanne and, honestly, I think it'd make a great final single for the album. - Diamond Heart. The song is a masterpiece, undoubtedly her best opening track, and one of my favorite songs of hers. The energy is electrifying. So, again I ask, what are some of your favorite qualities? toewsy 1,842
Her voice, the way she melds and dovetails so many genres, the lyrical depth/song composition, I could go on for pages and pages
Anderson123 38,218
That she has the balls to release something outside her box. I mean, all of her albums have been amazing and different to what other popstars do, but this one is very unique for a Gaga album. Her voice, the nostalgic atmosphere on some of the tracks, they really feel very personal (Joanne, Come To Mama, Angel Down, Grigio Girls, etc.)
YeehawKylie 7,817
Thanks for responding guys. Does anyone know if we can tweet this thread to reviewers? Show them what a real flop looks like, before they call Gaga one?
display name 4,360
I absolutely love how diverse the tracks are. I was worried that, because of how much she was working with Mark Ronson (although he is great), we would end up with the multiple versions of the same song but with different lyrics. That isn't the case at all though obviously. Each track is its own story and has its own identity, all of them being key to who Gaga is as a person. I feel so much closer to her through this album, and I feel as though I understand myself a bit better. It's a personal record, but it feels like it's personal for me as well. It's really like she lived out parts of my life. Obviously, that's not the case, but no other album as a whole has made me feel like this. She's really established a new kind of connection through these lyrics. Also, her vocals. Girl can sing. As fans, many of us have known this for a while now, but it wasn't always obvious on her studio albums. The song "Joanne" alone is sung perfectly. It's not a perfectly manufactured pop vocal, but it's emotive. It's something else. It's not that she's showing off the best of her vocal abilities, but the way she controls her voice to make you feel is just excellent.
Lord Temptation 11,209
The whole album is like a love letter. The storytelling on the lyrics is so raw and heartfelt. It's like she's exposing all her wounds to us to say that she is just one of us. She's just another broken soul with her arms wide open saying "let's heal together". The instruments are lush, expansive and earthy. They let the lyrics do all the talking. I love the harmonisation between instruments and Gaga's voice. Oh gosh. The album sounds like a long-lost love letter from our seventeen year old selves to our future selves.

Before my third listen of this song, I would have placed it near the bottom of the album, but that third time just clicked with me for some reason, and I sobbed through the whole song driving to school this morning. It's safe to say that it's one of my favorites now They / Them 🏳️🌈
