Quark 7,098
o<(0_0)>o There has been a lot of talk about how Gaga is always being attacked by critics instead of truly being reviewed. But I think this has been the truth for most of her career. Songs like Just Dance and Bad Romance, songs that are now praised, songs that have been influential, and songs that are now considered pop classics, were also heavily criticized during their release. On Just Dance, Slant Magazine: "desperate train wreck you're likely to encounter getting wasted at any dive on the L.E.S. at four in the morning" On Bad Romance, Rolling Stone: Gaga's new tune — a snippet of which she recently debuted on SNL — isn't up to the star's trashy-chic standards: The booming beat feels oppressive, the wordless hook is a little annoying, and on the chorus- "I want your lovin', I want your revenge" — Gaga's emoting takes her into bad-Cher territory. The important point here is that what truly matters is that we like the music and that hopefully many people will too. What matters is that the songs end up being liked and even hopefully influential like many Gaga songs have been. If you really think about it, metacritic scores consist of about only 30 opinions. These reviews are not the end all be all of music. I mean, David Bowie's first album received an average of 2 stars on his first album.

Yeah. It takes a while for people to really understand who she is and what the intentions of her music are. That is why she is always accused of being dishonest in reviews. Critics simply don't understand Gaga's passion and creativity. But then again, Gaga is not like most people.
Akiki 3,900
Lol... you guys are crazy. BTW got 70 on metacritic. The same for the fame monster. That is far from bad. I get it... its not 90 or 100/100. Her worst records are the remixes. I dont see how critics hate Gaga when all of her work is above 60...

Is not about the scores themselves but about what they say about her and her work. Also, in general Gaga has always deserved much higher scores than what they give her. If not... then what metacritic even means? Yes. BTW should have 80/100 at least and ARTPOP should have 50/100 (not sorry) If we forget about the remixes, her artist score would be one of the highest for a major popstar. Pretty sure it surpasses Madonna by a few points and many others. I just dont see the need to spread the idea that she isn't big with critics. For a popstar she is doing pretty good with them.
