The hospital is in Catania, Sicily, it's the only hospital in the area so I can imagine that there are not many If a gynecologists there and tbh there's no time to switch doctors when you are bleeding and about to die.. I was not entirely sure of the situation so I apologise for that. In fact, I don't blame anyone. The verdict hasn't been out yet. I never jump to conclusions. Because she was in the hospital with extremely low blood pressure and an insuing fatal infection. She was trusting her doctor to keep her alive, and keep the viable life of the other baby alive. The woman didn't want an abortion, she wanted to carry her twins to term, but she medically couldn't. This is common sense based on medical facts: OB-GYNs know how to do surgery to abort a fetus, even if they "don't do abortions". They "do abortions", or terminate pregnancy early, when women are in extreme danger or when the fetus is no longer alive or other extenuating circumstances. This doctor knew how to save the woman and possibly one of the babies (that the mother very much wanted to save), but choose to end three lives instead. This doctor shouldn't even have been a gyno in the first place, incredibly selfish and I hope he loses his license before more lives are lost under his watch. Doctors here wouldn't carry it out unless necessary. Generally they'll perform it when the mother is at risk. I thought that is the standard practice everywhere.
