It seems our girl really can't do any good in the eyes of some people. Give them ARTPOP and it's too weird and try hard, give them Joanne and it's not weird enough but, not convincing but still too try hard?

The way I see it with Gaga is that many people will always make their mind up about her before they REALLY hear the music

Exactly!

I also think that Gaga really loves "is it good or is it bad?" and consciously makes it a central point in her work.

The whole "gay icon electronic disco" thing is so offensive. Like you can't be a gay icon and change up the look or sound? Superficial to me I suppose. It's what comes from the inside that counts.

Kind of makes me think they didn't listen to the album properly because I don't know what screams "gay" more... a thousand lubed up leather bears waving a rainbow flag or Come To Mama?

Is the writer even educated in gay culture? Are they one of those people who thinks that it's all about flashy lights and club "bops" and stuff? It's so off putting.

And thank you for recognizing the potential gay anthem that Come to Mama could be :diane:

Where once Gaga presented herself as the ultimate gay icon on electro-disco smashes such as Born This Way and Bad Romance, now she’s dreaming about meeting a real blue-collar guy on the pop-country banger John Wayne and evoking the spirit of Carly Simon on Joanne, a…

I'm guessing that the majority of the first reviews to be published are by pressed Madonna Stan editors that were waiting for the second to post a mediocre review. The later reviews will be by the the true unbiased professionals.

So many 60/100 ratings for this album. Which, isn't necessarily a bad thing. Just means some don't dislike the album but also aren't impressed by the changed sound and image.
