"Guardian" Review missed the point of "Hey Girl"

So with this review from The Guardian, I wanted to look at one specific song review: "Hey Girl". The song is about not one upping each other and stopping the competitive nature between women and girls. However, in this review of the song, the reviewer does exactly that: "The Bennie and the Jets-inspired duet Hey Girl pits her against Florence Welch, a clash of vocal cords won by Gaga."

Isn't that missing the point of the whole song?? It's like they didn't even listen to the damn song... This collab isn't about competition, its about empowerment and being there for other women!

Women vs women is still a thing to most people these days, equality for women just isn't here yet. It all boils down to this

But do they really?

"As an example of powerful women urging other women to have each other’s backs..." sounds like they didn't miss the point completely tbh.
