An amazing album even if you took all the videos and sex book and fame out of the picture, the album is killer musically. Daring, interesting, fun, thought provoking and just awesome to listen to. Has aged really well. I love the use of piano throughout the album and the cool almost jazzy vibe that hangs around for most of it, and Ms sexy voice is fantastic on every song. Incredible as the follow up to Like A Prayer one of the best pop albums of all time. Erotica shows further refinement of Madonnas talents as a songwriter and a studio singer. I think the album was groundbreaking visually, kind of what Beyonce is trying (succeeding at doing?) now. It took the album to a different level at the time, but only if you get into the visual aesthetics of the whole thing. The video for Erotica is kind of amazing for exploring (witnessing) the subcultures of the gay sex scene. The song itself is just...well...a soundtrack. The best song off of the album is Deeper and Deeper. I really think it's the best song of hers. But, per the thread, 6 hit singles this album most certainly did not produce.
