'Joanne' is Gagas Charmbracelet

(putting it into comparison with some of Mariah's Work)

After her great Debut ('Mariah Carey'/'The Fame') and followed critical acclaim ('Daydream'/'The Fame Monster') and her best work yet ('Butterfly'/'Born This Way'), Gagas sales declined during her last Album ('Rainbow'/'ARTPOP'). 

While the Music may be good and Gaga is not having any creative boundaries by her Label, the General Public and the sales/chart positions aren't as great as they should be. This was a problem Mariah had during 'Charmbracelet' too, the music was good, but there was just something missing. The Album became one of Mimi's lowest selling Albums, which was 3.2M after a year long tour (which wasn't much during that time). After taking suggestion from LA Reid and working more with Jermaine Dupri again, Mariah had a whole Album done, with 'The Emancipation of Mimi' BUT before they planned the release, LA asked Mariah to just work on 1-2 more Songs with JD because the Hit is missing. not long  after that 'It's Like That', 'Shake It Off' and 'We Belong Together' were done and history was written. 

What I am trying to say is, that even though the Music is not selling as well as it should, that doesn't mean that she won't come around again with huge mega hits if she wants to. In the end, even 'Butterfly' by Mariah has been praised to heaven by the General Public, it still didn't win any Grammys or had high critics. That didn't stop her from making amazing music though. That didn't stop her from being successful later in her career. For someone like Gaga, who didn't connect with most people until now or even until the Superbowl, the sales are good. Even if it won't sell as much as her previous records, she can still put on a show. She's a household name for her Tours. The artRAVE was almost sold out despite only having two Singles and only one music video.

Charmbracelet doesn't really have good music though (Through the rain is amazing though). And I am a big Mariah fan.. Butterfly was praised TO DEATH btw

Charmbracelet isn't bad, it's good. It had good singles though and i love My saving grace, one my favorites from her.

But you're right, it's similar. It's simply not good enough to make up for the exhaustion of what was her style. Which happens a bit with Joanne, there's some good music but i'm afraid there's no stand out, really enough to salvage her from the fall

Well, Gaga should release some Singles of Joanne now and then Tour with it for a year. Mariah's huge comeback was also because she was touring shortly before that, so fans/GP had her in mind. This is what Taylor Swift was doing too before 1989.

Yes, i agree. This is much more simple than it seems. She already proved she can sing, she should relax with that, cause she's been trying to hard to look the part and prove she's authentic. She just needs to tour, make people remember she's great on stage and do what she does best for next record. With a SuperBowl on her back, she can have a massive comeback in her next one.

But that depends heavily in her mental condition. The girl has some major blockage and tough isssues to deal with. She has "it", but if she goes there or not. If the music isn't good, a great tour doesn't matter. Emancipation was such an exciting record.

Well what I also think, Gaga proved that she can write Music that isn't mainstream. What she should do for a Hit Record is, what Mariah did before every #1. Listen to what's on the Radio and see what the next step is.
