Sis, Jerusalem is a highly contested territory because of its importance to three major religions (also part of a trilogy, as my history professor describes it): Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

It's one of the potential flash points of a WW3

well that's common knowledge but hardly anyone listens to the UN

Jerusalem is part of Israel. East Jerusalem is Palestine. Though its occupied by Israel after a war.

That's false, Jerusalem is an international territory. It's not a Israeli territory anymore.

This is what my history teacher told me in class but Wikipedia (so a not so reliable source) says otherwise here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corpus_separatum_(Jerusalem)

Another day another bullshıt.

There is no info saying that UNESCO denied site's cultural relevance to judaism, it only says that UNESCO choose to name them as muslims do... UNESCO calls East Jerusalem "OCCUPIED PALESTINE" because it is what UN accepts.

De jure, the majority of UN member states and most international organisations do not recognise Israel's ownership of East Jerusalem which occurred after the 1967 Six-Day War, nor its 1980 Jerusalem Law proclamation, which declared a "complete and united" Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. As a result, foreign embassies are generally located in Tel Aviv and its suburbs.

UNESCO, being an organization of UN, has to call East Jerusalem occupied Palestine because it is the internationally accepted norm. http://www.un.org/Depts/dpi/palestine/ch12.pdf
Just like Crimea being Russian occupied Ukraine, Northern Cyprus being Turkish occupied Cyprus.

Does anyone read before forming an opinion ?
Democracy sucks because of this; lots of people have opinions without knowledge.

This is an obviously biased newspaper who does everything to distort information to be eaten by weak minds who can't search information to triangulate their view, and reach a synthesis.

Especially last paragraph is miserable... It is like look whom likes and benefits from this decision !?!?!? Literally hillbillies will eat that bullshıt reasoning. Would you kill 10 people if you knew it will make ISIS sad ? Or would you not help an old lady if you knew that also an ISIS militant would do the same ?

@Simonouch don't fall for the King Netanyahu propaganda!!

It's only for the Palestinian part and the Temple Mount area.. the Israeli part is still JCM..

I don't mind about the Temple Mount, it only caused a mess anyway..

@CrazyMonster your history teacher needs to be fired or refresh himself, Jerusalem (excluding the Palestinian part) is part of Israel since 1949.. what is true is that the majority of the countries + the UN is not recognizing Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.. the citizens of Jerusalem are paying city taxes.. if it was international, please pay too :toofunny:

What is international are the holly places because they are holly for the 3 religions..

*trust me, nothing is holly in those places, too much blood on them

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I do not know.
I would give the same response if muslims self-victimized because those places were called by their jewish names.

Tel-Aviv is internationally recognized capital of Israel which is the reason why embassies of most countries are in Tel-Aviv instead of Jerusalem...
