She could've released the RedOne tracks and call it a day but I guess she was not satisfied with the direction it was heading. Although I must say from the very beggining Joanne was what she wants to do. More organic and analog. Even when she was with RedOne she was doing guitars.

So Dancin' in Circles are originally by Beck?

Joanne album took only 6 months to finish? She can make an album in six months?

So why do we have to wait 3 years for an album???? :grr:

You need to work your ass off faster for next album Gaga, I want 20 more albums before you retire :derpga:

The Fame Monster took less than 6 months to be written and recorded. We waited 3 years because she obviously had other projects at that time. Cheek To Cheek, American Horror Story, both Grammy performances, etc. Gaga says she writes music every day and sometimes she needs to take a break from it. I mean, she probably had a ton of ideas for it but Mark Ronson came into the picture and they both had great chemistry so a lot of the songs we got were written and recorded in less than 6 months because that's when she realized what she wanted it to be about.

It's not that she "scrapped" RedOne. She just thought that maybe those songs were not the direction she wanted to take for the album, same with Giorgio Moroder. I mean, Joanne sounds very 60's, 70's so I'd have loved to hear at least one Moroder track that'd sound like his early work, but probably didn't make the cut.

Nah I don't hear them as being drastically similar either, but there are some direct similarities you can look for.

When she sings the actual lyric "It was a Perfect illusion" in the chorus, its the same melody as when madonna sings "I'm keeping my baby." It drives it home with retro 80's vibe that PI has.

Lol at people trying to find every little detail of Gaga's music and compare it to Madonna. :S I don't get why the media focuses on this so much but ignored everything Katy Perry and Kesha have released or the fact that 80% of the music that hits the radio all share the same chord progression or instrumentals.

So she only took one RedOne track to Mark? She must've really not been feeling the rest, we may never hear them.

So many talented people worked on this album, bringing so many different vibes than we've heard before. Gaga's always keeping it interesting which I love about her <3

-About Perfect Illusion: "The message in that song is quite personal for her," Ronson says. "It's this bastard love child of [Tame Impala's] 'Let It Happen' and 'Bad Romance.'" (As for the similarities to Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach" that some have pointed out, Ronson says, "Obviously, that was some kind of accident.")
