Everything just sounds so eclectic yet cohesive - no two songs sound the same, yet they all have their own critical piece within JOANNE. you literally said everything i wanted to say. I AGREE—WHOLEHEARTEDLY. if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back
PerfectGypsy 929
I have only listened to snippets, but on the full songs I've heard (PI, MR and A-YO) I completely agree! Even though I KNOW she has an incredible voice from her live performances, I was still shocked hearing it so raw in 'real,' final pop songs and at times I was like "she sounds so different!" Compare Million Reasons with Dope... What's wrong with Dope? I though it's one of her most expressive songs vocally...

Girl You will be even more blown away when you hear the album in full! The textures and character of her voice on all the songs Like Joanne (the song) had me SHOOK. It still has me shook to be completely honest

Dope is trully expressive, and probably the most passionate song in ARTPOP but she didn't use her voice Intelligently, the song fails because is too much intense in my opinion. I didn't said "no passion" but not the same amount of passion. Dope is the exception, and for me Dope have too much passion and too little control over that passion. Guest
im cool with her deep, androgynous voice but i miss her sweet, bubbly voice. i liked her (live!!) voice best during the fame monster era: speechless, telephone/ditd at the brits, bad romance ellen/ama etc. joanne is such a great track vocally. ronsonga really gave birth to her best vocal delivery yet. her voice starts in that soft, almost gospel-ly tone and then gradually changes into a sad, deep tone. it really makes you feel the loss their family had to process. genius. gagasgrande 3,671
i loooooveeeee her vocals on this album but i also really loved how her vocals are on the previous albums, for example: electric chapel/the queen. her vocals there are beautiful

But actually her vocal delivery is quite amazing In fact he said only HUSKY. The drama we got, HUSKY > Dope sometimes i think that many monsters are a little bit deaf because of their pop music consumption....
xoxo Craig 55,649
1 hour ago, Bebe said: So during the C2C era, during an interview with Tony Bennett, Gaga stated (about her voice) "Since The Fame, The Fame Monster and Born This Way, they’ve been auto-tuning it more, or changing the timbre. They take the vibrato out so you sound like a robot …they really control you, especially in the beginning. Although it was still my songs, and I still had a lot to say about the production, the vocal was something that they really, really wanted to control. So my vocal presence has been kind of the smallest presence about me for a long time. So everything else becomes the focal point.” She also reportedly told little monsters at Artrave "She declared to us, with complete sincerity and confidence that she would never auto-tune her voice again." Flash forward to Joanne and we have seen such a change to her voice on this record, it's f*cking incredible! The rawness of Perfect Illusion, the growls in Diamond Heart and AY-YO, the character and pain in Joanne and Angels Down, throughout this record Gaga has shown off her voice like never before. No more changes to her timbre or vibrato, we can really hear the colour, character and quality of her voice. It's so distinct! It's so personal! The tones are far richer! How are you feeling about the new Joanne vocals? Do you think it's a change for the better or the worse? I'm living for it personally Her voice is amazing!! Jarvin 1,389
People on here like to complain about " dope " vocals : I got it. ( Although Dope is one of my favourites ) I feel like she still uses this type of vocals, but is not pushing that hard. She is using beautiful technique and hits every note beautifully! In Angel Down for instance, she really makes use of that dopish vibrato voice but it is outstanding!
