I'm sorry when did I say I hated it?

I'm actually allowed to give an opinion believe it or not

It's true ;)

OT: Yeah, I'm definitely glad the rock elements shine through so strong. Country isn't my favorite genre in the world but Gaga mixes it in so well when she does it. I do believe she could literally pull off anything.

Yeah.

I would have preferred if there was a song or two that were less... analog, LOL

but that could have ruined the cohesiveness

Knowing her, LG6 will either be totally electronic or like...bluegrass or something :laughga:

Spoiler

And knowing me, I'd be here for it

Granted, I've only heard a few of the leaked tracks so far.... Joanne, Come to Mama, A-Yo...

I feel very strongly that this album stands best next to classic 70s rock albums, like Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Nick Drake & Fleetwood Mac (thanks @PunkTheFunk)... With the focus on singer-songwriter music. I don't see this as putting her into a specific GENRE, as much as landing her next to a canon of classic rock.

I think this is actually a brilliant move, artistically, because it positions her far to the left-field of what is currently popular in the pop music industry, and makes her music IMMEDIATELY more likeable to millions of potential new fans, who will FINALLY relate to and get Gaga as a vocalist / artist / performer.

I'm pretty blown away actually, and feel safe saying that this is going to be her best album to date, and by far her most well regarded by critics and mainstream culture.

Its a weird mix but I like it, i believe the album needed a little more catchy sounds but i still like it

To all of the people who think this is a country album,

Country music fans hate calling Florida Georgia Line and Taylor Swift (back in the day) country because they are too pop. Put that in perspective. :queenga:

JOANPOP is pop yall. Still, Joan was definitely inspired by early rock with some of the songs, but if we're trying to say that it's any other genre but pop, I think that it still makes sense to place it closer to country. I get strong country vibes from at least four of the tracks, like I'm-still-living-in-NC-strong.
