'Joanne' in the direction of 'Pure Heroine'?

We're all quite underwhelmed by the lack of promo, I know.

But the more I listen to the snippets the more I think this is a brilliant, multi-award winning and highly acclaimed album.

Pure Heroine by Lorde had one or two successful singles (Royals, Team, Yellow Flicker Beat?) and the album was critically acclaimed.

Her single 'Royals' won two Grammy awards (I hate this song though)

Didn't seem like this album was ever heavily promoted, it was simply good (apparently) and won awards, it went on to sell 1,500,000 copies in the US alone and was certified 3X times! 

I think Joanne can be capable of such success. The album is GOOD, REALLY GOOD. I already have friends who are addicted to PI and MR and they're not even fans.

I can't say the same about ARTPOP (and I love this album), it was too polarizing and the heavy promotion didn't help it.

 

So I'm still optimistic about this album

I LOVE the snippets and still think the lack of promo is strategic.  I'm not knocking PI AT ALL, I genuinely love it, but after hearing the snippets of the others,  I feel like it was a plan making it her first single which was just to lay the foundation of JOANNE and reveal a different sound, style, and image.  .  Now that people have seen just the base of what's to come, I think every upcoming single is going to build a continuous stronger following overtime. Which I think is really smart because if you reveal your best track from the jump, wouldn't it be kind of a down slide from there? Plus, especially now that she's performing in the superbowl halftime show, I'm sure wants to keep the JOANNE hype strong and alive for the big event.  I sense a storm is coming and believe she's got something major up her sleeve involving promotion.  Out of nowhere shell strike down like lightening  and reveal something epic to gain #JOANNTICIPATION

Lorde was a debute artist with a new style, but Gaga is well known to people, we can say  both albums are different from now days music, but how people will receive and how critics will talk about it is something different and it depend to now days taste and mood.
